Seminole State Forest Bike Ride

Went for a bike ride after work today.

Saw rabbit, turkey and deer. One of each. All eluded my camera on the six mile ride.

On the drive out, I stopped at the East and West Spur. Two short roads that intersect the main Forest road.

I pulled over, and walked to see what I could see. I have read scrub jays are in the area. I saw one, once. Not sure what the bird above is. Black head and back, white breast. Any ideas?

I'm going to the Keys this Independence Day Weekend. Don't know if I'll be able to post anything until I get back Monday night. Have to see if I can get the great niece and nephew in the kayak.

About Me
- Dave
- I bought a used kayak in March, 2005 and began sending tales of trips to friends and family. That November, generous friends bought me a camera, Canon Powershot 400, so pictures were added to the tales. January 2007, I was able to add underwater photography, thanks to one of my brothers. I am now on my sixth camera. As of May, 2014, I have a Powershot 115 IS. When I began kayaking in 2005, I would search the Internet for paddling information, trip reports, and practical advice. I hope this site adds to your knowledge and enjoyment. My home in Winter Park, FL,north of Orlando,allows easy access to both coasts and all the spring fed rivers in between. Many Tales are day trips. No overnight stay required. I welcome your comments and will try to respond to any questions you may have. I just posted a thing or two about kayaking in the Keys. If you get a chance to check it out, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy reading your blog.
SFG, I did read your Keys post. Like you until your recent visit, I've never been to John Pennemkamp SP. Doubt I will stop this weekend in light of the 4th of July crowds. I'm spoiled, with family in Key West, I don't think the Keys really start until the Long Key Bridge.
