Ormond By The Sea and Tomoka State Park

3592
Sunrise over the Atlantic.

View from my door 6:52 AM, Saturday

To the beach

My base for the weekend, Sea Deck Motel

Is it just me, or do these jelly fish look like,

 Yoda?

Sun getting higher, reflecting on the Sun Deck.

 Views from my door

Through the door

 Window view

$70 a night. Not bad for on the beach with a full kitchen.
After breakfast, I headed to Tomoka River State Park
 Along the scenic Ormond Loop
Park Road
On the Tomoka River at 10

Looking for Thompson Creek

Found it.  It had been a few years since I had done this paddle

Thompson Creek is much narrower than the Tomoka River

Sanchez Park. Near the confluence of Thompson and Strickland Creeks

Publix sub.  One is kitty korner from the the Sea Deck
Everywhere a sign
Empty Park.  Saw two guys launching a jon boat

Back in the yak.  Strickland Creek

 Back on the Tomoka

 Saw a manatee. No photo

Back at the launch/dock. 2:30.  I kept paddling.

A look at the Halifax River before turning back.

Landed just after 3.
Building, and a Creek named for Mr. Stickland.

I don't recall beer before.  So that makes Fort Zachary Taylor,  Honeymoon Island, Myakka River, and Tomoka River State Park where I have had a (legal) beer.

Posting this photos on May 7.  Camping this weekend in the Seminole State Forest.
 No firewood at Publix
In the car, drove to the tip of the peninsula.
Tomokie

Leaving Tomoka River State Park, 4:30.

 Looks like it rained
Door open, my pizza was well done.
 Beach walk, 7.

Walked to a park.  Wondered if it was Bicentennial Park, which stretches from Atlantic Ocean to Halifax River,

No. That Park is further down, I was in bare feet.
 Headed back to the motel

Back to the room, days end.

Thanks for your interest, Tammy. You are not missing anything. Work, a slow internet connection, and the weekly or so lost post means I am, and will, stay behind.
