Batzell Springs

Into the cold water.  Panhandle springs come out of the ground at 68 degrees.  The air temperature was about the same.  The water felt much cooler.  It probably was. It was 18 degrees in Marianna, Christmas weekend.

There is a pair of springs, separated by an isthmus.  I usually snorkel both.  This time, I just observed the second from land.

Western Lake is a coastal dune lake.  Which are very rare.  Except in Walton County, Florida, which has 30.
