Gamble Rogers, Haw Creek

 

Flagler Beach sunrise

2 of the 3 walkways to the beach are still damaged from Hurricane Nicole. No access from the day use area of Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area

In the kayak on the river side of the Park at 9:40

Paddled into a stiff south wind

From the straight Intra Coastal Waterway through a gap into Smith Creek

Back on the Intra Coastal

Left Gamble Rogers and went to Russell Landing and Haw Creek.

On the creek at 1:17

A beautiful, slow moving, blackwater stream.  So slow, I did not know if I was paddling up, or down stream.  I was paddling west, towards Crescent Lake.

Haw Creek has a wonderful boardwalk

Creek overlooks are blocked off.  I'm guessing high water damage from Hurricanes Ian and Nicole
