Homosassa and Halls Rivers

Launched from the ramp next to MacRae's at 12:53. A biker dude came out and said the manager said it was okay to park there as it was cold. I said I have been parking there for 20 years, and I was a customer as I would buy dinner and a beer when I returned.
After the paddle I noticed new to me signs that the ramp is now $10. Imposed by Citrus County in 2022. I had not launched here since December, 2021.
No monkeys we visible on Monkey Island.
Paddled up the River, a good wind at my back

The Quiet Zone sign is new since my last paddle in 2021. As are seagrass plantings in protective cages.
I began to see manatees as I go got closer to the springs.
The main spring is off limits. It can be observed at the Underwater Observatory in Homasassa Springs State Park. Do it if you have the chances. Smaller springs in a residential area are beyond this bridge.

Well, I tried to allow Anonymous postngs. As soon as I did, I had the same problem with the same person/spammer posting comments. One jerk spoils it for all. So,you'll need to register to post a comment.
