Bucks are still looking for does as mating season winds down. I saw 6 deer, 3 doe and 5 bucks. I think I saw one buck, the one in the opening photo, on the way up and the way down Rock Springs Run. Which was a bit darker than last time I paddled, due to recent rain. Saw the first buck just past the sandbar a short way from the confluence with the Wekiva. A short time later, as I prepared to photo some ibis and egrets, a second buck.
Which, with the third buck of the day, crossed Rock Springs Run twenty yards in front of me. More critters.
The first three bucks dashed away as soon as I spotted them. The fourth ignored me as I paddled a few feet away. Into the wooded area 2.5 miles into the trip, I saw the first doe of the morning. I made it past Indian Mound Camp, beyond the wood posts of the old logging tram, not quite to Big Buck camp, where I turned back. Seeing another buck as I did. Two more does as I headed down Rock Springs Run.

Well, I tried to allow Anonymous postngs. As soon as I did, I had the same problem with the same person/spammer posting comments. One jerk spoils it for all. So,you'll need to register to post a comment.
