Lakes Maitland, Nina, and Minnehaha

A short paddle this morning, Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Worked 20 hours Mon and Tues, so I slept in a bit. When I arrived at Fort Maitland Park, I saw I did not have my camera. Drove home to get it. Only a mile and a half. First photo at 9:31

The first (of many) anhingas, must have spotted a fish.

Anhinga, great blue heron and through the canal to Lake Minnehaha, with a stop in Lake Nina.

Green heron, and more anhingas. The fake ducks cover irrigation pipes lakefront owners use to water lawns.

Anhinga and great egret

Tri colored heron and great egret.

Osprey, more anhinga, and a moorhen. ( Not more hens)

Anhinga and great egret

More anhingas and a great blue heron.

Through the canal and Lake Nina, back to Lake Maitland. Which had a very green tint. Lots of dead weeds floating. I think the city sprayed the hydrilla.

Great egret and a final anhinga before landing just before 11. Two, maybe 3 other boats on the water.
