 New hatch cover was at the front door when I got home.  It, like the old one, has a cord. One end tied to the inside of the cover, the other, hanging loose.  To tie on to the kayak.  I felt under the hatch.  Nothing.  Found the inside tie down for the stern hatches.   Felt again, now that I new what to look for.  Nothing.  The old one came off with so much force at 70 mph, it took the anchor with it.
