Rock Springs Run

A Yertle the Turtle shot is always going to get the coveted first photo position.

Rock Springs Run

I was going to stay home this weekend. But, just before midnight, Friday, I looked to see if any sites were available at Kelly Park. Site 18 was available. I booked it, and hooked up the trailer after breakfast. No hurry to get to the Park, as there would be a line when it opened. No line when I arrived, the Orange County Sherrif at the entrance gave my a kayak launch pass. The kayak launch has a seperate entrance, at Camp Joy. I registered at the office, asked if, I could get to my campsite early, no. Camp Joy has a long portage from parking to Run. No issue, I have wheels. Only I did not. I alternate carrying and dragging the kayak. The grass was lush form recent rain, so hopefuly no damages was done. I think I left the wheels at Wekiwa Spring.

Lakes Virginia, Osceola and Maitland

Underway from Dinky Dock at 6:32. The boat ramp is closed. High water. Can't have wakes washing up on rich people's lawns.

Lakes Maitland, Nina, and Minnehaha

Although I went to bed after 2 AM after my annual Labor Day Week in Wisconsin, and cut the lawn when I woke up, I still got on the water before work, Monday. Thankfully, works begins at 12:30, Mondays.

Little and Big Arbor Vitae

The above photo would be better had I been standing on the dock instead of sitting in a kayak on a windy Big Arbor Vitae. Our eagle has a mate.
No sunrise. No deer seen on a rainy walk to start the day.
On Little Arbor Vitae at 11:50. After the rain stopped. And Pete and Jackie were almost ready to head home.

Little Lake Tomahawk, and more

When I was a kid, we had to swim to this dock from the other side of Little Lake Tomahawk so we could take boats out without wearing a life jacket. Camp American Legion. A veterens facility, not a kids summer camp.
The day began with a loon with the sunrise on Big Arbor Vitae.
