Sterling Creek Park, Georgia, and Faver-Dykes State Park, Florida

The last paddle of my New England fall foliage trip. Or, as I renamed it after seeing motorcycles on trailers headed to Daytona for Biketoberfest, Kaytoberfest. Spent the night at the Florence Express Inn, in Florence, SC. Found Sterling Creek Park on Maps. Not to far from I95 On the small pond at 12:15
The blue water reminds me of two places. The small lakes at the head of the Waupaca Chain, and Cudjoe Key at my niece's.
Landed at 12:35
Back in FLorida. Crossing the St Johns River in Jacksonville. I think the Dames Point aks Napoleon Bonaparte Broward bridge is better looking than bridges I crossed earlier in NY and NJ.
Entering Faver-Dykes State Park. The Park entrace is less than 2 miles off I-95. Than anaother two miles down this beautiful dirt road.
I did not remember this kayak launch. When I got home, I checked the Yak Tales Archives, and saw on my last visit, in February, 2020, it was being constructed.
On Pelicer Creek at 4:20
This is the ramp that I have used before. I have only been to Faver-Dykes State Park 3 or 4 times. This trip was perfect timing as I will be on a week long lodge based trio with Adventures in Florida at the end of the month. Based at nearby Princess Place. A little pre-trip scouting is good so the guests think I know what I am doing.
Osprey
I wanted to paddle to Princess Place, but it was too late, and too windy, so I turned around.
Landed at 5:40.
Headed home after kayaking in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia,West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Conneticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Quebec over the last 13 days.
