Wekiwa Springs State Park, Rock Springs Run

After 3 weekends on the Gulf, I stayed home this weekend.

Day got off on the right foots.  Grabbed two right aqua sox.  Flexible, so I stuffed my left foot in.
On the Wekiva River at 7:55. Steam rising, water warmer than the air.

Down the Wekiva River to Rock Springs Run

Rock Springs Run

Saw three people, canoe and kayak, one buck.

It rained.
Otter. Front of log, near the fern

Turned back at 10:20
Had some blurry bird pics.  Wet lens. Must have wiped it off just in time.

Coats shaggy from the rain

Hawk

Young buck. Those bumps will grow.

Joanne B., River Patrol volunteer.

Hawk high above the confluence
 The only gator I saw

Landed at 12:40
Lunch stop halfway up the hill to the car. Lost the cotter pin that holds the wheel to the cart. I have two spares, but carried the kayak the rest of the way.
On the bike

On the feet

There were deer

50 minute walk to Lake Prevatt

 Saw more deer

A little patch of blue sky. First since Tuesday

Back to the Sand Lake trail head
Steve R. came in town for a convention.  Had dinner with him and Tom J. at a place call Marlow's at Pointe Orlando.  A place designed to separate tourists and convention goers from their money.  Not a bad meal.
Did not want to pay the $10 cover at BB King's.  Had a nightcap or two at Adobe Gila's.
