The opening photo is the first one I took on the usual midweek morning paddle. After moving a paddleboard out of my way, I was on Lake Maitland at 8:35.
The lakes are at least a foot higher than last Wednesday.
Great blue herons do not dry their wings as often as diving birds, like anhingas.
I'm guessing it got wet wading in the deep water to feed

Landed at 11. Next stop, Sanibel Island. Where, Wildlife Drive in the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge is closed to repave the road Which is needed. But, had I known, I may have made other plans. Hope to muddle through somehow.
