Blackwater Creek Seminole State Forest

I began the morning walk before sunrise.
The Oaks campsite was a good destination because it has an outhouse.

Blackwater Creek, Seminole State Forest. April 8

The opening photo is the up creek blockage. It is also blocked, downstream. I did not know this when I launched from the Moccasin Springs campsite at 1:15
I was spending the night at the campsite.
My plan was to paddle to the Wekiva. And, back.

I had to change plans. It may be possible to get out and portage, but it was deep and mucky near the bank, so I turned around.

Rock Springs Run

First time at Wekiwa Springs State Park since they implemented a reservation system. Kind of a pain in the ass. Would be more of a PITA if I was not already in the system as a frequent camper.
4 cars in front of me at the ranger station. A looong spring break this year, with Easter on the 20th of the month.
I was on the Wekiva just before noon.

Taylor Creek

There was a bluegrass festival at Fort Christmas Park today, so I wanted to kayak close by. Saw a report on Taylor Creek which said you can launch from the Nova Road Bridge. I have paddled Taylor Creek from the launch near Lone Cabbage Fishcamp. Thought that might have too many airboats on a Saturday. So, I went to Nova Road.
