Rock River, Horicon Marsh
My last Wisconsin for this trip was on the Rock River and Horicon Marsh. The paddle was in the part of the Marsh the State of Wisconsin controls. No boats allowed in the adjacent Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge.
Interesting situation at the launch site at the end of Green Head Road in Dodge County. The neghibors think they own the public launch and have put up yellow "Do Not Cross" tape. I just slid the kayak under and was on my way at 11:50.The first great egret I have seen in Wisconsin.
The bald eagle is the farthest south I have seen one in Wisconsin. Saw a juvenile, flying, on the drive in.

I was going to paddle the Throughfare, linking Lakes Minocqua and Tomahawk. But the launch fee has doubled to $10. No way I'm paying that when there are hundreds of places nearby to launch for free.
I launched from the Carrol Lake Campground. Picked it because Carrol Lake is linked to Madeline Lake.
