Lakes Maitland, Osceola, Nina, and Minnehaha

Rain forecast in all directions for about 100 miles. But, it was not forecast to start at home until 10 AM. So, I figured I could get a paddle in on the Winter Park Chain before the storm and crowds.
Launched from Fort Maitland Park at 8:20

Lake Underhill

Lake Underhill is 3 miles east of Downtown Orlando, bisected by the 408 Toll Road. Or as us old timers call it, the East West Expressway. I had never paddled it. I was nearby, getting an eye exam, so I paddled it.
On the water from Lake Underhill Park at 11:50.

Coot and glossy ibis
F-4 at Joe Kittinger Park. The Orlando native flew them in Vietnam. He is better known for jumping out of a ballon in the stratosphere in 1960. It was the longest free fall for half a century.
Downtown Orlando
Landed at 1:50. Just an hour on the water.
Went for a bike ride. A path goes from Lake Underhill Park to Colonial Drive.
Passes Orlando Executive Airport.
The bike path is on the south shore of Lake Underhill. On the north, a promanade attached to the toll road. Bike riding is not allowed.
3 picture looking towards Downtown as I ate lunch.
