Lake Mills

Paddled here because it is relatively close to Fort Christmas Park. Which was having the annual Bluegrass in the Park. A very windy paddle. I was only on the Lake 30 minutes. The good news is, between Bluegrass in the Park and the Maitland Jazz and Blues Festival, I saw 8 bands today. Plus 2 Friday, in Maitland.

I put in at Lake Mills Park at 10:40. A Seminole County Park with a 14 site primitive campground.

A dead end residential canal offered respite from the wind and waves.

About a five mile bike ride from the Snow Hill Road bridge takeout, where I left the car, to the CR 419 Bridge put in, where I had dropped the kayak

Haw Creek

Launched from Haw Creek Preserve, near Bunnel, at 10:40.

Paddled up the Creek

I do not think I have paddled this far up the Creek before. Prior paddles have been mostly downstream. Today was windy, and Haw Creek widens as it approaches Dead and Crescent Lakes, down stream.

This section of the Creek looks like it may have been dredged and straightend.

Launched from Morris Bridge Park at 2 PM. Would have been 1, but a jackknifed tractor trailer on I4 caused a major traffic jam.
