Launched from Fort Matiland Park at 8:23.
Instead of my usual turn to port, and Lake Minnehaha, I set a southbound course once I was out of the narrow bay at the western end of Lake Maitland.
More bird variety on a residential, suburban lake than in the wilds of Blackwater Creek.
I wonder what the rich neighbors think of this sculpture. The owner must be filthy rich, and not care.
Approaching the Maitland-Winter Park border. A lone sentry. Usually, several anhingas and cormorants roost in these cypresses.
Approaching the Venetian Canal
If you want to believe the guides on the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour, the canal zig zags due to liquid lunches by the diggers.
Into Lake Osceola
Back in the canal
Back to Lake Maitland
Kraft Azalea Gardens
Isle of Sicily bridge
Howell Branch Creek
The Creek connects Lake Maitland and Lake Howell. Unfortunately, there are two dams. Even worse, I had to go to work.
Return to Lake Maitland
Two boats, one a Florida Fish and Wildlife craft, and a jet ski on the lakes.
Landed at 10:50. Improvements to the unisex restroom. In the yellow building. The door now has a working lock, and closes automatically. The paper towel dispenser is working. Still need to lift the top of the tank and pull the chain to flush. Talk about news you can use. I will next greet you from Cedar Key.

Very cool opening picture. I also like the Anhinga on the lounge chair.
