Squirrel fleeing high water at the cabin
Looking for where the Myakka River enters Upper Myakka Lake
Still looking
The concession
Inside the concession, well outside, on the balcony.
Back at the cabin
Where you can see why it was a good idea for the cabins to be placed on pillars.
To get them above the annual summer rains
All the water made me want to kayak.
So I did
.
The Myakka is very high when you can paddle behind benches on the bankAnd, accessible picnic tables
Kayak accessible
Touching the Park Road bridge.
Wet trail at the Canopy Walkway.
Wet? More like flooded.
Ankle deep, at least.
Last summer, before the pillars, the cabin would have been flooded.
