Launching from Wilson's Landing at 12:20 with Traies R. After running a shuttle from Katie's Landing.
That's twice this week I've paddled with others. Tim S. on the Econ, Monday. I may lose my reputation as the guy who paddles alone.
We paddled down the Wekiva. Went into the channel on River right, downstream of HWY 46, that has a small spring. Unable to locate the vent.
Back to the main channel. Where the wind was blowing into our faces so we hugged the west bank as best we could.
We were able to take the side channels, including the flag channel quite a ways downriver before reentering the Wekiva's main channel.

We paddled maybe 15 minutes downstream of the high ground with the picnic table. Turned around letting a power boat pass. The operator nicely slowed down and asked if any paddlers were ahead.
We stopped at the bank with the picnic table and ate lunch.

- I bought a used kayak in March, 2005 and began sending tales of trips to friends and family. That November, generous friends bought me a camera, Canon Powershot 400, so pictures were added to the tales. January 2007, I was able to add underwater photography, thanks to one of my brothers. I am now on my sixth camera. As of May, 2014, I have a Powershot 115 IS. When I began kayaking in 2005, I would search the Internet for paddling information, trip reports, and practical advice. I hope this site adds to your knowledge and enjoyment. My home in Winter Park, FL,north of Orlando,allows easy access to both coasts and all the spring fed rivers in between. Many Tales are day trips. No overnight stay required. I welcome your comments and will try to respond to any questions you may have.
