Wekiva RIver, Rock Springs Run

A short, one hour paddle after work. Pulling up to the entry station. the ranger looked at my kayak and said, "You're not going out now, are you ?" "I sure am" "You have to be off the water by 8:00" . I was in the water at 6:53, out at 8:02.

Down the Wekiva to Rock Springs Run, up the Run, to the shallow area, then turning around. It rained the entire paddle, not good for photography. In addition to the limpkin seen above, I saw a green heron, great blue heron, great egret, ibis, and ahinga.

Searched for deer and bear, thinking dusk would bring them out, but saw none while paddling.

Returned to the Spring,

Walked the "Wet to Dry" boardwalk, beginning of which is above. Walked like a old lady, short careful steps on the wet, slippery planks. Then pulled the yak up the hill, got it on the car. Toured the Park road in the dark, saw an owl and a deer.
