Myakka River, Myakka River State Park, Friday, August 7, 2020

Starting a 3 night weekend in a cabin built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in Myakka River State Park
In the cabin just before 4 PM, Friday afternoon
New wood in the 1935 cabin

On the water, at the Park Road Bridge, at 4:55
Immediate alligators
Limpkin

Paddling up stream on the Myakka River

Black bellied whistling ducks

Every Friday, I post a video on the Church of the Double Bladed Paddle, Faccebook page

Glossy ibis

Myakka Falls

Black bellied whistling ducks in flight.

Last time I was here, I paddled over the dam

Stop at the closed concession.  As happened the last time I was here, the wifi was not working.  So no Friday video post to the Church of the Double Bladed Paddle
Twenty minute break, back on the water at 6:37 for the return paddle

This bridge used to link the dam and land.  And you would have to portage.  Not anymore.

 Landed at 8:10
