Lake Maitland

On Lake Maitland at 6:28

I have been seeing an eagle on a big cypress tree that used to have a osprey nest.  Until rich people killed it.

There were a pair of eagles today.

My rich people killing it refers to the latest property owners.  In the 15 plus years I have been kayaking Lake Maitland, the osprey nest was rebuilt at least 3 times.  First, when the house that was on the property when I first began kayaking was enlarged, but kept the same foot print.  Second, after a summer thunderstorm knocked the nest down, and third after Hurricane Irma. It did not survive the complete tear down of the house, replacing it with one 3x as large, putting a bigger boat dock, with a wake boat and two jet skis, right under the tree.  Not to mention, dogs and kids.

The usual anhingas.

A nice sunset. Which sadly, is coming early. Next week will be the end of my after work paddles. Except for Fridays.
