Ponce de Leon Spring, Falling Waters, Merritt's Mill Pond.

Sherman Fox Squirrel, Falling Waters State Park .  Iave seen them at Wekiwa Springs a few times, but never this color.

Lying in bed in Gulf Shores, I was thinking I could visit the 3 places in the title.  If I got out of bed.  So, I did. Without saying goodbye, as Tom was driving his other guest to the airport.
Arrived at Ponce de Leon Springs State Park at 9 AM

No kayaking from here

Snorkeled in the cool, 68 degree water

I figured since Ponce De Leon flows into a small creek, it would not be backed up from the recent rain.
I also thought that, due to the rain, the waterfall at Falling Water State Park would have a strong flow. So, that was my next stop.

Sinkholes

The waterfall drops into a sinkhole.

73 feet, the tallest waterfall in Florida.

Stream that feeds the Falls.

At 323 feet, perhaps not the view that comes to mid when someone says, "Florida"

Next stop. Merritts Mill Pond in Marianna.  Hunter Fish Camp Road is newly paved.

The spring across from the boat ramp is blocked from Hurricane Michael downfall

Hole in the Wall

Twin Caves platform

Did they add a beach to Jackson Blue Spring?

Not a beach, a new retaining wall.

I did not land. Jackson Blue is open only during the summer.  Scuba divers can get permits in the off season

Shang-ra-la Springs

Creature From the Green Lagoon

Old dock

Limestone formations blocked by fallen trees

Piles of stacked trees.

The old boat launch

Cave Adventures offer scuba supplies, lessons, and more.

Landed at 4:16, 3:16 Central
