Blackwater Creek

With a holiday weekend on the horizon, it was time to get a permit for the Seminole State Forest.
Without a permit, you can't drive in.  Permit has the gate code

On Blackwater Creek at 5:42
One car was at the launch site.  I thought it may be as shuttle vehicle, and the people went down Creek.  So, I went up.

I was wrong.  Saw two kayakers leaving Moccasin Spring. Since they left, I landed.
Moccasin Spring

I have camped here several times.  I need to ask if I can sleep in the trailer, up where cars park.

Back on the Creek, continuing upstream

I caught up with the other pair of kayakers.  They were fishing, I turned around.

On first glance, I thought, Panther! Then it turned showing the distinct bobcat face seen in the opening photo.  By far the biggest I have seen. I have seen them 6-7 times.
Would not have seen it if I had kept paddling upstream
Florida Trail campsite, below.

Landed at 7:42
