Wacissa River, Santa Fe River

Launching from the Wacissa Springs boat ramp at 11:50.  After a big breakfast, and 2 hour drive from Marianna.  A spring is under the tree.  Only a small area is not weed covered.

Cassidy Spring.  Over the years, more and more weeds have blocked it.

From the map in Bulletin 66, this may be Garner Spring. Bulletin 66 is a comprehensive survey of Florida Springs put out by the Florida Geological Survey.
It is up a spring run, before the run to Big Blue

Back on the Wacissa

The run to Big Blue

The spring was not very clear, and had the vegetation that, unfortunately, is so prevalent on the Wacissa.  I did not swim.
Took a second run, out of Big Blue, back to the Wacissa and paddled back up the River

This could be Minnow Spring
Lile the other springs, weed choked.
Otters

Paddling up a side channel

Spring boil clearing the duck weed
Maggie Springs, I think.

I was hoping for a cross channel back to the Wacissa.  Nope. Had to paddle back the way I came.

Back on the Wacissa

Wacissa Spring 3A? or 3B?

Landed at 2:30

Arrived at Gilchrist Blue Springs about 5.  I was lucky enough to camp along Naked Spring a few years ago.

Beautiful spring run to the Santa Fe River

Rum Island Springs

It has been open since August.  Closed to put in a bathroom, and new stairs at the spring.

Mermaid Spring.  At least that is what the guy there said. I was not sure if it was Mermaid, or Jonathan.

Got a snorkel in.
